Who are we?
|
| |
|
At Skillfair we all have experience of managing professional teams, and know how hard it can be to find the right specialist skills quickly. Plus we've worked as independent consultants ourselves, so we understand the value that consultants can bring and how difficult it can be to find a way in to new clients. |
Our objectives are;
|
To help our clients find high quality, skilled specialists |
To open doors into new clients for our consultants
|
| We believe that independent consultants offer great value for money and represent an untapped and undervalued reservoir of skill and talent.
Smart businesses use the skills and experience of the independent sector to supplement their own resources
with specialist knowledge. Whether you need specialists in marketing, computers, trademarking, sales or finance, Skillfair can put you in touch with quality checked consultants ready and able to help. |

The Skillfair team are: |
Gill Hunt, Managing Director
|
| |
| Gill has worked in a variety of technical, consultancy and marketing roles in the IT industry
and set up her own IT & Management consultancy in 1999. She soon learned that the biggest challenge facing an independent
consultant is finding and keeping new clients and started Skillfair in 2002 with the aim of helping consultants across a
range of specialist areas to do just that. As well as setting the strategic and commercial direction of the company she also maintains and develops the web site and
systems that support the service.
Jo Bausor, Marketing
|
| |
| Jo's background is in advertising and consumer marketing in the financial services sector. She has been involved
with Skillfair since it began and is responsible for our branding and marketing approach. Jo is also responsible for customer service and keeps in touch
with the membership through our 'welcome' phone calls and responding to queries.
David Yates, Business Development
|
| |
| David started life as an Industrial Engineer but has spent most of his career in sales and business development before setting up and
running several companies. He also teaches marketing management and strategy at postgraduate level. David is leading our efforts to develop strategic partnerships with networks, professional bodies and other partners -
as well as developing our client base.
Angela Ireland, Tele-Marketing
|
| |
| Angela is many people's first contact with Skillfair - unlike most of us she enjoys chatting to strangers on the phone and is responsible for spreading the word about Skillfair through tele-marketing. She doesn't
work to a cold-calling script, being a self-employed consultant herself means she has a great understanding of the market and generally gets a great response from the people she calls. If she gives you a call please be nice to her!
Cath Adams, Tender Research
|
| |
| Cath is responsible for finding and posting the tenders that are a fundamental part of the Skillfair service. Her thoroughness and attention to detail means we can offer more information than other tender services and rarely miss an
opportunity. But if you think there's a site or magazine we should be checking, please let us know!
All of the team work on Skillfair at the same time as working on other projects, which gives them all a blend of commercial knowledge and an understanding of the challenges that
face the independent consultant or freelancer.
